(059) Woodhead-Windy Hills Circular (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
This is an excellent short walk through very pleasant and quiet natural woodland. There are no steep slopes, making for easy walking. The area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the underlying quartzite gravels from an ancient river-bed.

(050) Balmedie Country Park-Blairton Burn Circuit (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
A short but enjoyable coastal walk through a special sand dunes system and on a wide sandy beach. There are good views of the recently constructed Menie golf course and the Aberdeen wind farm turbines, just offshore. The beach section can be extended in either direction.

(006) Ythan Estuary and Forvie Sands Circular (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
This is a gentle but very rewarding walk in the Forvie Nature Reserve. The views of the estuary, dunes, heath-land and beach are marvellous at every turn. On the return leg there is a short diversion to the remains of the medieval village of Forvie, lost to the shifting sands.
