Walk (165) Old Portlethen-Findon Moor Circuit (Aberdeenshire)
This is a varied and scenic coastal walk. The route takes in farmland, an unusual expanse of coastal moorland, two old fishing villages, and a rugged coastline with steep cliffs, stony beaches and rocky inlets … 😁

Plan B: Three Gardens …!
Sitting in the car at our Braes o Gight walk start point, watching the rain run down the windows, we realised an alternative plan for the day was in order. “The three gardens” of Fyvie Castle, Haddo House and Pitmedden House brightened things up … 💙😁

Walk (164) Abbey St Bathans-Edin’s Hall Broch Circuit (Borders)
This is a very pleasant countryside walk with an interesting historical dimension. The route starts and finishes at the rural hamlet of Abbey St. Bathans, buried deep in Borders countryside close to Duns, on the banks of the Whiteadder Water. After following the river downstream the route ascends onto a shoulder of Cockburn Law to visit the ruin of Edin’s Hall Broch within the site of an Iron Age hill-fort … 😀

The Broch At Abbey St Bathans …
One of the highlights of today’s walking route was the ruin of Edin’s Hall Broch – unique in Southern Scotland – and something of a mystery – set in a commanding position on a shoulder of Cockburn Law in deepest Borders country. Even now, far less than in 200 AD, it makes an undeniable statement about status and power … 🤔
