The “Perfect Glen” …
Remote Glenbuchat, in Strathdon, was once home to a diverse community of 500 people – living off the upland landscape in a mostly self-sufficient and inter-dependant way, and having little need for the outside world. Now, the population is a tenth of that, but this beautiful valley still resonates with the buzz of hard-working country lives. 16th Century Glenbuchat Castle played its part in Scotland’s bloody history, and, although now a crumbling ruin, it dominates the opening to the Glen … 😊

Welcome to the World 💙 Lewis Joseph Alistair Mackenzie 💙 A beautiful baby boy to complete our family and a little brother for Sophie. I can’t believe he is finally here after an 8 hour labour that happened VERY quickly compared to his sister’s with no pain relief 💪He arrived at 1254am on the 11th April weighing 7lbs 8oz. We are still in hospital absorbing all the squishy new born magic … 😍

A Grey Day for Grey Seals …!
A cold and grey but delightful day walking with Sara and John at Newburgh this morning. I’m not sure we’ve ever seen so many seals down by the mouth of the Ythan. Impossible to tell from the photos but they young ones were so inquisitive! … 😊
