(089) Buckie-Portgordon-Gollachy Circuit (Moray)

Route Summary
Although just over 9 km in length, this is an easy coastal hike with a modest overall ascent. The sheltered position on the Moray Firth will often make for tranquil conditions, and on clear days the hills of Caithness, far away in the North of Scotland, are readily identified.

(088) Ben Newe (from the East) (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
This walk through pine forest and heather, above upland pasture at Glenbuchat in Strathdon, provides many opportunities for exhilarating views. The route is short, at just over 6 km, but involves a fairly steep climb with just over 360 m in overall ascent.

(087) Meikle Tap (Hill of Fare) Circular (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
Close to Westhill and Banchory, this is an accessible walk in open conifer forest and heather moorland, easily accomplished in a half-day excursion. The ascent to the top is gradual, whilst the views from the top are wonderful. A good hill-walk for walkers of all abilities.

(086) Fyvie-Den Wood Circular (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
This is an energetic walk in a variety of woodland habitats in the Den of Rothie, at Fyvie, in rural Aberdeenshire. It is fairly long at over 8km, with an appreciable overall ascent of over 200m. In season, there are numerous opportunities to identify fungi along the way.

(085) St Ninian’s Isle Circuit (Shetland)

Route Summary
This walk will provide unforgettable images, typical of the beaches, cliffs and coastal scenery found in the Shetland Isles. The two-sided “tombolo” beach connecting to the island is particularly breath-taking. Although not a long walk, there are lots of ups and downs.
