A circular route to the highest of the Correen Hills where there are outstanding views, not only of the Howe of Alford and Strathdon countryside below, but also to many of the distinctive hills and mountains in the Grampian area. There are interesting historical associations.

Route Summary
An easy rural ramble with very limited ascent. The highlights on the route are – the river path along the scenic valley of the River Don and the wider vistas to the Bennachie and Menaway Hills from the mid-point at Auchintoul Farm. As ever, some historical interest too!

(067) Hill of Tillymorgan (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
A relatively short hill walk over varied terrain with a mostly gradual ascent. There are excellent views at many points on the route. The modern wind turbines and old abandoned slate quarries that surround the summit each provide interest and spectacle in their different ways.

(066) Tarland-Knockargerty Hill Circuit (Aberdeenshire)

Route Summary
An enjoyable excursion into the pretty countryside around Tarland, between Donside and Deeside. The route takes a gradual, gentle ascent to the top of Knockargerty Hill where there are exhilarating panoramic views. The sites of two ancient monuments are visited along the way.

Route Summary
An excellent half-day hill walk incorporating a good mix of pine forest, heather moorland and farmland environments. Along the way there are lots of opportunities to rub shoulders with the history and myth associated with the Bennachie range.
